Colby-in-a-Box is an opportunity for you to plan an event in your area. If you want to connect with other alumni near you, you are free to plan almost any sort of get-together you wish. Opportunities to connect or reconnect with the Colby College alumni community are only limited by your imagination.
Art museum or gallery tour with alumnus/a artist
Young alumni happy hour
Dinner/lunch with featured speaker/guest (local noteworthy alum)
Play or performance with alumnus/a artist
Arboretum or park tour
Hiking, canoeing, or bicycling
Wine tasting or winery visit
Historic site tour
Music event or movie meet-up
Alumni and parents will be reimbursed for food/beverages as designated by the receipt(s) for the event, up to $150 for 25 attendees or more, and $50 for 10 or fewer attendees. If you do not wish to receive reimbursement, receipts are not necessary.
Swag items for attendees: we may be able to provide some Colby-themed items, determined on a case-by-case basis.
Pick the date, time, and location for the event.
Be the on-site point-person leading up to and for the event.
Share the final attendee list and photos from the event.
Alumni interested in a Colby-in-a-Box are asked to request a box up to three weeks in advance of the event by emailing [email protected] or by calling 207-859-4310.
All requests will receive a response within 48 hours.
Volunteer hosts will be offered reimbursement for food/beverages costs based on the final attendee list and sharing the photos from the event.
