Crew boat dedication at Homecoming 2026
Friday’s festivities kicked off with the presentation of the Lovejoy Award for Courage in Journalism to Helene Cooper of the New York Times, Tara Copp of the Washington Post, and Phil Stewart of Reuters. In celebration of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, downtown Waterville hosted a municipal sukkah in Castonguay Square, while back on campus student a cappella groups delivered spirited performances in Lorimer Chapel.
On Saturday, President David A. Greene P’20, ’24 engaged in an insightful conversation with Michael E. Koester ’94, P’24, vice chair of the Board of Trustees and co-founder and managing partner of 5C Investment Partners. Campus was buzzing as new crew boats were officially dedicated, and the Woodsmen’s Team hosted an exciting demonstration of their skills. The Roberts parking lot transformed into a vibrant hub with food trucks and tailgating parties providing a variety of fare for attendees.
Athletics were in full force all weekend long. Highlights included women’s soccer shutting out Trinity College 2–0, volleyball beating the University of New England 3–0, men’s soccer earning a 1–0 victory over Trinity College, and a thrilling 3–3 tie for men’s soccer against Husson University. Ultimately, it was a fantastic weekend of school spirit, competition, and community!
