The 2nd annual Colby Alumni Day of Service was held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026. What an amazing turnout! Nearly 100 alumni, family members, and friends came together across 13 projects in six states and London, U.K., to make a hands-on difference in local communities. Here is a look at what our volunteer teams tackled around the globe:

  • St. Vincent de Paul (Ojai, Calif.): Set up, stocked, and assisted with food distribution for hundreds of community members.
  • GLIDE (San Francisco, Calif.): Prepped and served hot meals to support neighbors in the Tenderloin district.
  • Food Bank of the Rockies (Denver, Colo.): Packed hundreds of food bags and sorted thousands of pounds of supplies to fight local hunger.
  • Fort Collins Trolley (Fort Collins, Colo.): Pitched in on restoration and maintenance tasks to keep local transit history rolling.
  • Sherwood Island (Westport, Conn.): Cleaned up coastal trails and shorelines to preserve Connecticut’s oldest state park.
  • Women’s Lunch Place (Boston, Mass.): Helped kitchen staff prep, serve, and clean up meals for women experiencing hunger and homelessness.
  • Rosie’s Place (Boston, Mass.): Jumped into the kitchen to prepare nourishing meals at America’s first women’s emergency shelter.
  • Gaining Ground (Concord, Mass.): Cleared farm beds to help produce fresh food for local hunger relief.
  • Cradles to Crayons (Newton, Mass.): Quality-checked, sorted, and packed everyday essentials for local children in need.
  • Maine Needs (Portland, Maine): Sorted and prepped essential household items and clothing to support local families in need.
  • Strong Girls United (York, Maine): Donated and sorted sports equipment to empower young female athletes in the community.
  • The Woods Project (Houston, Texas): Repaired and inventoried essential wilderness gear and expedition backpacks for outdoor education programs.
  • Holland Park (London, U.K.): Maintained and beautified community gardens in Kensington.

At every location, volunteers brought fantastic energy and non-stop hustle, showing off Colby’s spirit of giving back. With so much excitement and impact generated across the board, we can’t wait to grow this tradition even bigger next year!
