Working closely with the Office of Engagement and Annual Philanthropy and travel partners in the U.S. and Italy, Dr. Plesch has designed a trip that taps into her personal academic specialties and passions. It includes visits to her favorite places in each area and allow the group to see art in its original, off the beaten track, and utterly breathtaking settings. As the group stop for sustenance along the way, the group will have plenty of opportunities to be immersed in the gastronomic and enological culture of these intriguing French and Italian regions.

This unique travel experience has been designed to enhance your artistic eye and elate your gastronomic senses. This adventure features a second-to-none small-group educational and gourmet experience with comfortable 2- and 3-star hotels as well as boutique hotel accommodations. The itinerary involves a significant amount of walking, with packed dirt and cobblestone streets. Some attractions are only accessible via steep staircases with tall, uneven steps. All participants are expected to be physically active and not be an impediment to others on excursions, to enjoy traveling as part of a group, and to be ready to experience cultural differences.  This is the first travel experience to be offered as part of the new Colby Worldwide Adventures program for alumni, parents, and friends.
