DESCRIPTION:Hurricane Sandy victims still need your help!Volunteer to help New York Cares muck out hundreds of buildings damagedin Hurricane Sandy and get homeowners ready to rebuild.Potential activities include removing sand and debris; discarding water-damagedfurniture, appliances, and other household items; tearing out moldy drywall, insulation, or tile.Saturday, January 268 a.m. - 5 p.m.The RockawaysMeet at 47 Trinity Place at 8 a.m. for the bus- we will likely be back around 5 p.m.Volunteers should bring/wear:• Sturdy, closed-toed shoes (work or hiking boots are preferable but sneakers or rain boots are ok too)• Long sleeves and pants made of thick material (e.g., jeans, carpenters, or cargo pants)• Warm, layered clothing that can get dirty• An optional change of clothes for the end of the day (don't forget socks)• Lunch and personal water supplyOnly 10 spots available so act quickly!
